Partick Thistle name Wilson as new head coach
Briefly

Partick Thistle has confirmed Mark Wilson as their permanent manager following a brief interim period. Initially serving as the Under-18s coach, Wilson took charge in February alongside Brian Graham. Chairman Richard Beastall acknowledged frustrations over the hiring timeline amid speculation regarding other candidates. Despite talks with various other managers, including Dougie Imrie and James McPake, the club settled on Wilson due to his commitment to youth and leadership qualities. Wilson expressed enthusiasm about taking on the head coach role and preparing for a busy summer ahead.
We fully appreciate that supporters will feel frustrated it has taken us longer than we anticipated to make this announcement particularly as there has been a great deal of speculation throughout the course of this week.
We believe Mark is the best fit for Partick Thistle. His knowledge and commitment to promoting our own talent shone through, as did the leadership he showed on the training pitch.
I am really pleased to be the head coach at Partick Thistle and I cannot wait to get started. It is going to be a busy summer but one I am looking forward to.
It was always clear to us throughout the process that that Mark was an integral part of our future aspirations.
