In my teenage years, through Aotearoa, being on the edge of the Pacific, I felt the ocean breathing heavy, swallowing the shores of islands that have done the least to cause this harm."

It is a fashion industry that spins beauty out of minority exploitation, leaving waste piled mountains higher than hope. It is complicit leaders who wage wars for profit while the earth burns beneath their souls."

The Climate Crisis campaign, curated by Iranian-Egyptian creative Sepehr Badiei, presents climate change as an immediate lived reality rather than a distant threat. Using hair, manipulated fabric, and found objects, the work examines power, identity, and systems through personal experience of environmental injustice. Badiei's perspective, shaped by refugee migration and witnessing oil wealth's destructive impact, frames climate crisis as inseparable from racism, capitalism, and war. The fashion industry's complicit role in minority exploitation and leaders' profit-driven wars exemplify how environmental destruction intersects with systemic oppression. The campaign positions climate action as fundamentally connected to liberation movements, emphasizing that environmental justice belongs to all people.
