Eric Thompson’s series examines the instability of existing in an in-between state during his emigration from Canada to the United States. Photographs capture aimless scenes with a peaceful yet unsettling tone, focusing on relationships between objects and people and liminal states either awaiting action or echoing forces long gone. Themes include confrontation, uncertainty, existential threats, fragility, and a wounded hope for relief and common ground, inviting viewers to accept tension, reset, and respond with compassion toward suffering neighbors.
