Ricoh has officially announced the GR IV camera, set for release in fall 2025, building upon the popular GR III model. The GR IV retains its predecessor's 28mm-equivalent f/2.8 lens and rear LCD setup, but comes with notable upgrades: a bump in sensor resolution from 24 to 26 megapixels, an extended ISO range up to 204,800, and enhanced five-axis stabilization. The lens design features a new seven-element configuration for better corrections, alongside added autofocus capabilities like face and eye detection. While onboard storage increases from 2GB to 53GB, the camera now supports microSD cards instead of full-size SD.
The GR IV maintains the aesthetic of the GR III while introducing higher resolution, improved stabilization, and enhanced autofocus features, catering to enthusiasts and professionals.
With an upgraded sensor resolution of 26 megapixels, enhanced ISO sensitivity, and a new lens design, the GR IV promises better image quality on par with modern standards.
