Photographer Ismail Zaidy, with siblings' help, captured a meaningful image in 2021 at La Mamounia hotel in Marrakech, during COVID restrictions. Utilizing a vintage dress from a flea market, Zaidy and his siblings spent three hours shooting outside, a rare opportunity during lockdown. The session fostered creativity, resulting in a tranquil image reflecting his sister Fatimazahra's thoughtful demeanor. The positive reception of the photo during the pandemic highlighted Zaidy's intention to inspire hope and peace amidst chaos, fulfilling his desire to uplift others in difficult times.
It was a fairly chaotic period for all of us, but over time things calmed down and we found a rhythm. It actually gave us more time to create together.
People told me it gave them a sense of peace and hope. That was exactly my intention. I wanted it to bring optimism in uncertain times.
