"Gamers: I've got some very exciting news to share. I'm honoured to be part of the judging panel for this year's Virtual Photography Awards 2025. This prestigious competition has been running for several years now, and was created by Mik Bromley, founder of TheFourthFocus an online resource for all things gaming and photography. There are seven categories in total to enter, including Action, Environment, People, Storytelling, Open, Lo-FI, and Collection (a cohesive image series)."
"If you're not familiar with virtual photography, it's a highly skilled practice that essentially blurs the lines between gaming and digital art. It's sometimes referred to as in-game photography, screenshot art, or game-derived art to help people understand how these images came to be. Take a look at some of the winning shots from the 2023 Virtual Photography Awards to get a grasp of the high standards."
A judging panel will evaluate entries for the Virtual Photography Awards 2025. Mik Bromley of TheFourthFocus created the competition. Seven categories are available: Action, Environment, People, Storytelling, Open, Lo-FI, and Collection (cohesive series). Entrants may submit one image per category. Entries close Dec 31 at 23:59 GMT / 18:59 EST / 15:59 PST. Prizes include game codes and digital keys, controllers, PlayStation or Xbox gift cards, 12-month magazine subscriptions, and a DOOM: The Dark Ages Collector's Bundle for the overall winner. Virtual photography blends gaming and digital art, using photographic principles such as framing, composition, exposure, and rule of thirds, and does not involve AI.
