2025 Photo Awards Winner: Victor Cambet
"I left France in 2016 after finishing my studies to move to Montréal. I didn't know anyone, and that's when I started photography, at first just to explore the city. I've never stopped since, it's been almost 10 years now."
"A personal moment made me realize how fast everything can go, and that time doesn't come back. It pushed me to be more instinctive, to care less about what others think, and to make decisions without waiting to avoid regrets."
"In 2024, I decided to quit my job as a graphic designer to focus 100% on photography. It opened me up to a lot of things, different cultures, and I've grown much faster creatively."
Victor Cambet, a self-taught photographer from Montréal, won the Street category in the fourth annual Photo Awards. After moving from Lyon, France, he began exploring photography in 2016. His work focuses on vivid scenes and overlooked details of daily life, showcasing beauty in the ordinary. Cambet's journey includes significant life moments that shaped his artistic vision, including leaving his job as a graphic designer to pursue photography full-time, which enhanced his creative growth and exposure to diverse cultures.
