Woman says her dog helped her escape when she was accosted by man in Rockland woods
Briefly

In Rockland Town Forest, a woman was attacked by a man who made inappropriate comments and grabbed her arm. Her dog intervened by jumping at the man, causing him to release his grip. The woman managed to escape to her car safely. Police described the assailant as a white male in his 50s with short dark hair, wearing a white shirt and khaki shorts. They conducted a search in the area but did not find him and are seeking public assistance.
The woman, who was walking her dog, said the man made "inappropriate comments" toward her. When she attempted to walk away, the man "aggressively" grabbed her arm.
Rockland police described the man as white with a medium build, appearing to be in his 50s. He had short, dark hair and was reportedly wearing a white shirt and khaki shorts.
The woman's dog then leapt at the man, police said, and the man let go of the woman. The woman was able to rush back to her car.
Chief Nicholas T. Zeoli said the police searched the area and did not find the man. Police are requesting anyone who has information about the man to call Rockland Police.
