Rapper jailed for owning XL bully which killed pensioner two days after breed ban
"Ashley Warren was found guilty of being the owner of a dog named Bear, which caused injury resulting in death while dangerously out of control in a private place. He was acquitted of being in charge of another dog, Beauty, which belonged to his girlfriend."
"Prosecutor Christopher Paxton KC stated that leaving Esther Martin with the two dogs was a tragedy waiting to happen, given her short stature and the powerful nature of the XL bully dogs."
Ashley Warren, 41, was sentenced to 10 years and three months for owning an XL bully dog that mauled 68-year-old Esther Martin to death. The attack occurred shortly after a ban on the breed took effect in England and Wales. Warren had left Martin, who had mobility issues and no experience with the dogs, in charge of two XL bullies and eight puppies. Prosecutors described the situation as a tragedy waiting to happen due to the significant size difference between Martin and the dogs.
