Queen Camilla inaugurated a sensory garden at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aimed at enhancing the lives of rescue dogs. She was welcomed by a guard of honour made up of the dogs. The garden is designed by Monty Don and serves to provide a calming atmosphere for dogs waiting for adoption. Camilla, who is the Patron of Battersea, has a history of supporting the charity and has adopted rescue dogs herself, currently having Bluebell and recently adopting a puppy named Moley.
Monty Don stated, "It's so important to give dogs a space where they can be free to run around and smell and sniff things as they prepare for their new lives ahead."
Queen Camilla remarked, "I'd have taken him," while petting Dipsy, a Jack Russell cross, as she visited the dogs.
