"I just like to do things my own way, basically. I figured that if I printed it out and did something, it would reach a bigger audience than if I were to just post it on my page ... It's f-ked up to think about him missing in the snow like that."
"I am worried someone might have picked him up because a few people have told me that around Corona, there's a thing where people steal dogs."
"Yo Chill denied that the bags contained any illegal items or that he sold any narcotics, saying the bags were simply a 'publicity stunt' to bring Appa home."
Gabriella Fussner's 5-year-old Shar Pei named Appa escaped from her boyfriend's backyard in Corona after fireworks startled the dog through a fence hole. Desperate to find her pet, Fussner's boyfriend asked an artist known as Yo Chill to help spread the lost dog poster. Yo Chill printed Appa's image on marijuana baggies as a creative publicity stunt to reach a wider audience. The unconventional approach backfired, generating approximately 50 hoax calls, many featuring people barking at Fussner. Yo Chill claimed the bags contained no illegal substances and were purely meant to help locate the missing dog.
