Wa Siti, a 55-year-old grandmother in Indonesia, vanished while gardening, raising concerns among her family. Her son found her body partially consumed by a 23-foot python, underscoring the dangers posed by such large reptiles in rural Southeast Asia. This incident echoes a similar case from October 2022, where another grandmother was swallowed by a python. As human settlements encroach on natural habitats, encounters with wildlife are becoming increasingly dangerous for residents in these regions.
I was always worried about her working on the farm. I have seen big snakes before. She had worked on the farm since she was a little girl, so she was not afraid.
By that point, she was already dead, Indonesian Police Inspector One Hardi said.
