Winchester, a stray dog that entered a Washington shelter more than two years earlier, had previously lived in four boarding kennels and had never had a proper home. Rescue officials sought an adopter after featuring him in November 2024. Red Waggin' Rescue described him as a “Velcro dog” who missed human interaction and would do best with someone working from home. About a year later, Winchester was adopted and went to his forever home. His new mom reported that he is high energy, enjoys zoomies around the yard, and loves going on walks. The rescue also lists other available pets for adoption.

"Officials with Red Waggin' Rescue, located in the City of Connell, told KIRO 7 he's a bit of a Velcro dog after missing out on so much human interaction, and would do best with someone in a house working from home. A year after that story was published, Winchester has finally gone home."
