
Police in Scottsbluff, Nebraska responded to reports of a shotgun blast at a convenience store. Officers found a truck with blast damage to a door and a woman who had been struck in the arm by a pellet. Investigation determined the shooting occurred when the vehicle pulled up to the store while a dog moved from one side of the back seat to the other. The dog triggered the shotgun, which had a live round chambered to fire. The blast damaged the vehicle and injured a female passerby. The woman was taken to the hospital and was not seriously injured. Nebraska law makes it illegal to drive with a loaded shotgun in a vehicle.
