New dealer-run fair aims to fill gap left by Design Miami
Briefly

After the cancellation of Design Miami Basel due to financial difficulties, a group of French galleries, led by Charlotte Ketabi-Lebard, formed Maze Design Basel to ensure a continued design presence in Basel. The fair will be held at Offene Kirche Elisabethen, a venue noted for its significance and beauty. The participating galleries collaborated closely, selecting members by lottery to determine stand locations, emphasizing a unique, gallery-run initiative in a city central to the art world.
"Basel is the epicenter for us, for the art world. We can't just not be in Basel. When the organisers of Design Miami called us to tell us the fair was cancelled, all of the dealers were super upset, and we felt kind of abandoned by the fair."
