This iconic piece, used by Birkin for nine years and marked with her own stickers, is noted for its uniqueness, not being the final version commonly known today. The creation of the Le Birkin stemmed from a chance meeting between Birkin and Hermes director Jean-Louis Dumas in 1984, leading to a collaborative design. Birkin's last auction of this bag was for charity in 1994.
