Suzanne Syz, a Zurich-born jewelry designer, gained invaluable experiences in 1980s New York, where she interacted with prominent artists, influencing her creative trajectory. Her collection spans thousands of pieces from several notable artists and her instinct-driven approach to acquiring art highlights a deep appreciation for originality and the emotional connection to each piece. From purchasing her first photograph by Guy Bourdin to her latest embroidery work by Nathalie Du Pasquier, Syz expresses a passion for art that fuels her design philosophy and personal collection.
My last purchase was an embroidery work by Nathalie Du Pasquier from Giorgio Mastinu's gallery in Venice. It was love at first sight. I like how her work blends graphic design with craft in this series.
When I could afford something, I bought a photograph by Guy Bourdin. I actually knew him; he was a true original. His compositions were surreal, provocative and entirely his own.
