Bows, bounce and rule breakers: week two on the red carpet at the Cannes film festival in pictures
The closing week of La Croisette featured standout red-carpet looks at Cannes ceremonies and premieres. Isabelle Huppert wore a black-and-white Chanel gown with oversized paillettes that sparkled under festival lights. Stellan Skarsgard updated classic tailoring by choosing a red-on-red Loewe look instead of the traditional white shirt and black tie combination. Angele Diabang Brener appeared in a tangerine gown with a contrasting gold neckline detail. Aishwarya Rai wore a sculptural Amit Aggarwal design with crystalline embellishments on lattice-like structures intended to create luminosity, depth, and fluidity. Tilda Swinton and Chloe Zhao both used pleated or fringe details to add movement to their Chanel and Gabriela Hearst looks, respectively.
