Activists return Macron waxwork stolen from Paris museum
Briefly

Greenpeace activists conducted a protest by stealing a wax figure of President Emmanuel Macron and placing it outside the Russian embassy and EDF headquarters. This act aimed to criticize Macron's continued economic ties with Russia, particularly in the energy sector, despite international sanctions following the Ukraine invasion. The group returned the figure to the museum while insisting they had only borrowed it. Greenpeace highlighted the ongoing imports from Russia, including enriched uranium and fertilizers, and pressured Macron to take responsibility for these ties.
"We came to bring back the statue of Emmanuel Macron because, as we said from the start, we had just borrowed it," said Jean-Francois Julliard, executive director of Greenpeace France.
"The choice of the EDF headquarters was to make Macron face up to his responsibilities concerning the trade that is maintained with Russia, particularly in the nuclear sector," he added.
