Aimee Cotton, a 41-year-old woman from Martha's Vineyard, faces manslaughter charges after a 2-year-old boy she cared for died due to being left unattended in a car for about three hours. On March 13, Cotton called 911, but despite efforts from first responders, the child was later pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. Initially charged with assault and reckless endangerment, the charges were escalated to manslaughter following the child's death. Cotton's bail was raised to $21,000 as she awaits a court hearing.
