On March 13, Cotton called 911, but despite efforts from first responders, the child was later pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. Initially charged with assault and reckless endangerment, the charges were escalated to manslaughter following the child's death. Cotton's bail was raised to $21,000 as she awaits a court hearing.
