Navigating an airplane bathroom with small children can be an immense challenge, especially with two daughters in tow. The experience involves intricate maneuvers and flexibility, as all family members take turns using the toilet in the confined space. The emotional toll of being the designated bathroom parent, or DBP, often goes unacknowledged, leading to increased burdens during outings. Common issues include encountering dirty toilets, long waits outside stalls, and managing children's belongings, such as stuffed toys, in cramped areas.
Each of us took a turn on the toilet, which required all of my Twister and yoga skills to come into play. We were basically hugging each other as we took turns rotating spots.
It escalates the work burden of each and every outing if you are the DBP. You'll push open countless bathroom stall doors only to be greeted by shit-filled toilets.
