On August 3, a neighbor, Nathan Huyck, an off-duty firefighter, helped a woman named Jasmine Mix deliver her baby in her parents' front yard in Indiana. Jasmine was 36 weeks pregnant and experiencing contractions. After initially believing she could wait for her husband to return home, the urgency escalated. Despite reluctance to call an ambulance, Jasmine ultimately felt the need to push as she approached the car, at which time her father called for help from Huyck, who responded immediately to assist with the delivery.
The baby's delivery began unexpectedly on the front lawn when Jasmine Mix felt the urge to push as her husband opened the car door.
After initially delaying the decision to call an ambulance, Jasmine Mix’s parents acted quickly, with her father yelling for neighbor Nathan Huyck, a firefighter and paramedic, to assist.
