EXCLUSIVE: Pete Davidson Is Rolling Into Fatherhood ... Minivan and All
"Minivans don't pretend to be anything they're not," Davidson tells TODAY.com. "They're authentic, they're practical and they're the classic parent car. I respect that."
"Because VHS is nostalgic and something I loved as a kid," he says. "I've been building a collection from eBay and had to make sure I could play them all in the van. I'll probably start with 'The Brave Little Toaster.'"
"my mom, obviously. She survived raising me and my sister as a single mom, so she's basically been through every scenario imaginable."
Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt are expecting a child. Davidson selected a minivan as his parent vehicle and commissioned a custom Honda Odyssey with a retractable awning, cargo box, handheld cordless vacuum, refrigerator, baby bottle warmer and a VHS player. The VHS player reflects nostalgia and a personal collection of tapes that will include The Brave Little Toaster. The van was created in partnership with eBay as the first entry in the Built to Spec series connecting cultural figures, builders, and automotive enthusiasts. A second custom minivan was auctioned to benefit Answer the Call, supporting families of fallen NYC first responders. Davidson was seven when his firefighter father died on September 11, 2001, and plans to seek parenting advice from his mother and friends including Colson Baker.
