Google Drops FAQ Rich Results From Search
"It was only used for a tiny set of site types (as documented), so for most, this doesn't result in changes in Search. If a site had the markup & wasn't one of those types, it was already being ignored. No need to change anything, but if you did it for search, you can remove the markup if you want."
FAQ rich results will no longer appear in Google Search starting May 7, 2026. Google will stop providing FAQ search appearance reporting in Google Search Console and will remove related support from the Rich results test in June 2026. Support for FAQ rich results in the Search Console API will be removed in August 2026 to allow time to adjust API calls. FAQ rich results were launched in 2019 and have been reduced in visibility since 2023. The impact is expected to be limited because FAQ rich results were used for only a small set of site types, and markup outside those types was already ignored. Sites can remove the FAQ markup if it was used specifically for search.
