Preferred Sources are being rolled out in AI Mode and AI Overviews so selected sources appear directly within AI responses. Preferred Sources will be clearly labeled to stand out, similar to Top Stories, and the feature is global across languages. Google also expanded the highly cited label to more search results beyond AI experiences. Google updated help documentation to include AI Mode and examples, and provides guidance for adding a site as a Preferred Source. Google is also launching new carousels in AI results for developing topics, highlighting Preferred Sources and making timely articles more visible across a wider range of queries.
