Briefly

Online shoppers are being targeted by a new threat known as 'GhostVendors', which involves thousands of spoof websites mimicking popular brands. Modeled by a campaign uncovered by Silent Push, it uses malicious ads on platforms like Facebook Marketplace to lure users to fake products, resulting in significant risks for consumers. Researchers discovered over 4,000 fraudulent domains that are quickly cycled in and out to avoid detection. Traditional safety measures, such as blacklists, can only provide limited protection, so users are urged to exercise caution and verify through official channels when shopping online.
The attack starts with 'malicious Facebook Marketplace ads' which direct shoppers to its websites, leading to a significant threat targeting major brands and consumers.
