"A recent Google Forms survey conducted by 11th-grader Gianni Callwood, the the Antioch Unified School District board's new student representative, aimed to understand the primary issues affecting students. Wi-Fi problems quickly became clear as the students' top concern. Responses included comments such as Extremely poor internet, Please fix the Wi-Fi and Negative Wi-Fi around campus. In fact, all 21 responses mentioned Wi-Fi or internet problems that students have experienced."
"Dozier-Libbey never had the best Wi-Fi, but I've noticed this year's was worse, 11th-grader Ahmad Ali said recently. It seems like the entire school is on the guest Wi-Fi, so whenever everyone is connecting onto the school's internet, you have the majority of students on one connection."
"I feel like the internet is such a big barrier when it comes to my education at times because it keeps me from doing the work I need to get done on time, said Daniela Edeh, a 12th-grader."
Reliable internet access is essential for students using online resources such as IXL and the College Board. Dozier-Libbey Medical High students regularly experience spotty Wi‑Fi that interrupts online exams, quizzes, and assignment completion. A student-conducted Google Forms survey found Wi‑Fi issues to be the top student concern, with all 21 responses reporting connectivity problems. Students report the guest network becoming overloaded and timed AP tests losing connection while time continues to run. Teachers and students say these disruptions delay learning and hinder academic success. Repeated connection failures create daily frustration and barriers to completing schoolwork on time.
