"Hi guys! I've watched all sorts of tutorials trying to find a solution but haven't found on yet (at least not an easy one). When a trainee answers a pre-programmed quiz question in Captivate wrongly, there is an automated prompt coming up, such as "try again". You can adjust how many attempts a trainee can take, but more than 2 attempts for a yes/no or true/false question is ridiculous."
"The correct answer is then guessed rather than known/understood. Ideally, the trainee is being brought back to the slide where the answer can be found in the contents. Also acceptable is a solution where the auto-prompt can be personalised for each question. I've seen Paul Wilson creating a very complex click-to-reveal slide to solve the latter, but there is no count going into the results for the LMS."
When a trainee answers a pre-programmed quiz question wrongly in Captivate, an automated prompt such as "try again" appears. Attempt limits can be adjusted, but allowing more than two attempts on yes/no or true/false items encourages guessing rather than understanding. Desirable behavior includes automatically redirecting the trainee back to the slide containing the answer or providing personalized remediation messages per question. A complex click-to-reveal workaround exists, but that approach may not submit attempt counts to the LMS. Uncertainty remains about whether Release 13 provides a simple built-in solution for these needs.
