What will the next century look like for East Bay parks? The district's general manager shares her vision
Briefly

The East Bay Regional Park District, guided by General Manager Sabrina Landreth, oversees 126,000 acres across 73 parks, engaging with the community for its future. Amidst factors like climate change and evolving community needs, the district seeks public input to create a strategic plan for the next several decades. With millions of visitors and constituents in the surrounding counties, the park district aims to enhance its management approach, addressing both environmental and social aspects of park operations, while highlighting its substantial size and importance.
We're managing over 126,000 acres of parkland, with our 73 parks. Just to put that into some perspective, that is the equivalent, in terms of geographical size, of the state of Rhode Island.
We always say we're the largest in the country, which is true, but I don't know if people know exactly what that means...they might be familiar with their neighborhood park, but [not] how big we really are.
