During my internship at the National Center for Disaster Preparedness, I explored the complexities of climate justice and disaster response. Engaging in various tasks including literature reviews, grant research, and conversations with experts, I aimed to bridge the gap between awareness and action. I was particularly focused on how to make disaster education accessible beyond traditional emergency contexts. An impactful moment was the Columbia Climate School Showcase, where I connected with professionals and gained insights into the intersection of policy and storytelling in climate action.
The Columbia Climate School Showcase was an eye-opener for me, allowing me to connect with professionals and expand my understanding of climate justice.
I wanted to learn how institutions respond to disastersâand where they fall short, turning my passion for climate justice into tangible actions.
