From WhatsApp groups to real-world projects, Wexford social enterprise trainees build lasting community ties
Wexford Local Development concluded its Start Your Own Social Enterprise training programme delivered with Local Enterprise Office Wexford. The programme supported people with compassionate hearts and powerful ideas to create community change. Entrepreneurs Academy provided guidance, with confidence that future social entrepreneurs will develop safe, supportive, life-changing spaces for those they aim to serve. A strong sense of connection grew among participants, including friendships and a WhatsApp group for encouragement, idea sharing, and continued collaboration. Wexford Local Development and Local Enterprise Office Wexford committed to ongoing support. Guest speakers shared stories from social enterprises, including the Cornmarket Project and Kafe Konnect, describing emotional, inspiring impacts on individuals and families facing difficult times.
"“What stood out most about the day was the sense of connection that has grown among the participants,” WLD said. “This journey does not end here. Both Wexford Local Development and Local Enterprise Office Wexford remain deeply committed to supporting each individual as they continue on their path.”"
"“Already, friendships and support networks have formed, including a WhatsApp group where participants can encourage one another, share ideas, and continue building together.”"
"“Listening first-hand to the difference the Cornmarket Project and Kafe Konnect have made in the lives of individuals and families facing difficult times was both emotional and inspiring. The impact of this social enterprise reaches far beyond food and hospitality, it changes lives, restores confidence, and creates hope.”"
