Scientists detect deep Earth pulses that are tearing Africa in HALF
Briefly

A significant geological transformation is occurring in Africa, as a massive crack is forming from northeast to southwest. Scientists, led by Dr. Emma Watts, discovered that rhythmic surges of molten rock beneath Ethiopia are causing this split. Currently, the rift is expanding at a rate of 5-16 mm annually and will ultimately create two landmasses over millions of years. This will affect key regions including the Gulf of Aden and major lakes in East Africa, leading to a new ocean being formed.
"The split will eventually go all the way down Africa... it has already begun now but at a slow rate - 5-16 mm per year in the north of the rift."
"As it does so, it would split through the middle of enormous bodies of water in East Africa, such as Lake Malawi and Lake Turkana."
