A peculiar mummified creature, named the Capacabra, was discovered during renovations of Cook-Seevers Hall at Michigan State University. Resembling a small cat with human-like hands, it features a long tail and is covered in thin tissue. Its age is yet undetermined, although it cannot predate 1889, the year the building was built. PhD student Jerielle Cartales, studying forensic anthropology, is exploring the creature's origins, drawing comparisons to the mythical chupacabra. Theories about its identity range from cryptids to common animals like opossums, but none have been confirmed yet.
The mummy, dubbed the Capacabra, was found at Michigan State University and has since become a mascot for the university's Campus Archaeology Program, though its true identity remains unknown.
It is roughly the size of a small cat, and it's got a very long, skinny tail, which goes hand in hand with cat-like features. But it has very, like, almost human hands.
