A viral video shows beachgoers at Maho Beach in Sint Maarten being blown away by the engine blast of a departing MD80 aircraft. Tourists often flock to this famous spot, which is just 20 meters from the runway, to marvel at low-flying planes. The thrilling experience quickly turns chaotic as jet exhaust knocks possessions and people to the ground. Many viewers criticized the recklessness of those present, with some sharing personal experiences of injuries from a similar situation, highlighting the potential dangers of such close encounters with aircraft.
That's a lot of stupid people voluntarily getting sandblasted with sand and jet fuel exhaust fumes.
The experience is ferocious. The hot wind (exhaust) with sand feels like you're getting sandblasted alive.
I did this, and ended up with a glass shard lodged in my back. 10/10 wouldn't recommend.
The levels of stupidity in this video are unbounded.
