Shirley Raines, 58, founded Beauty 2 The Streetz and devoted her life to serving people experiencing homelessness across Los Angeles and Nevada. Her organization provided hair color, makeup and mobile showers and distributed face masks, hand sanitizers, vitamins and other supplies during the pandemic. Raines used a media platform to advocate for marginalized people, amplify their voices and bring dignity, resources and hope. She emphasized friendly contact and the importance of reminding people they are not forgotten. Raines lived in Long Beach and had six children.
