The International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) has awarded grants totaling $575,000 to 23 fact-checking organizations from 20 countries through its Global Fact Check Fund's BUILD 2025 initiative. Each organization will receive $25,000 to bolster operations like staffing and technology, aimed at correcting misinformation and enhancing the public's ability to critically assess information. This initiative underscores the importance of information integrity, as stated by IFCN director Angie Drobnic Holan. Since its inception in 2023, the fund has granted over $8.5 million to numerous journalism organizations worldwide, with plans for a new GROW funding tier to support further projects.
We’re not just investing in individual organizations. We’re strengthening information integrity worldwide. Supporting fact-checkers is one of the most impactful investments we can make in accountability, transparency, and public trust.
Each grantee will receive $25,000 in unrestricted funding to support operational needs - including staffing, training, equipment and technology - strengthening their ability to correct falsehoods on public interest issues.
