Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAfG) has been honored as a 2025 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblymember Buffy Wicks. SAfG focuses on eliminating barriers to girls' participation in STEM education by providing hands-on learning experiences. The organization serves over 850 young girls across 23 East Bay schools and celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2024. Co-founder Courtenay Carr Heuer emphasized the importance of this award, highlighting their ongoing commitment to fostering the next generation of female scientists, engineers, and innovators.
We are truly honored to receive this distinguished award in recognition of our commitment to empowering the next generation of girls through STEM education.
This recognition affirms our decade-long commitment to breaking down barriers in STEM education for young girls.
When we see a child's eyes light up during an experiment, we're witnessing the exact moment when possibility replaces limitation.
With this honor from Assemblymember Wicks, we're energized to expand our reach and continue building pathways for the female scientists, engineers and innovators of tomorrow.
