The New York Yankees signed Adam Kloffenstein to a minor-league contract with a Spring Training invitation, with the transaction logged as official on Dec. 19. Kloffenstein was a third-round pick in 2018 out of Magnolia High School and spent most of his professional career with the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He had a strong 2019 season but encountered struggles in subsequent years. He began 2023 in Double-A with a 3.24 ERA, 3.47 FIP, 27.6 K% and 8.9 BB% over 89 innings before being traded to the Cardinals. He finished 2023 and spent most of 2024 in Triple-A, making a one-inning MLB debut at Rickwood Field in June. The Yankees also signed former Blue Jays catchers Payton Henry and Ali Sánchez this offseason.
