Yankees' Aaron Judge and Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani don't disappoint
Briefly

In a thrilling game at Dodger Stadium, reigning MVPs Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani delivered standout performances, both hitting impressive home runs. Judge opened the scoring with a 446-foot homer, while Ohtani responded shortly after with a 417-foot leadoff homer. Their simultaneous success marked a historic first, as it was the first time reigning MVPs homered in the first inning of a game. Despite the Yankees leading 5-2 at one point, Ohtani's two homers ignited a comeback, culminating in the Dodgers' 8-5 victory.
In the first inning Friday, both showed why they already are overwhelming favorites to win those awards again this season.
Judge, batting second in the top of the first, tattooed a 1-and-1, 90-mph fastball from Tony Gonsolin 446 feet to dead center for his 19th homer.
Ohtani sparked a four-run inning with his MLB-leading 22nd homer, just over the glove of the 6-7 Judge at the rightfield wall.
It marked the first time reigning MVPs homered in the first inning of a game in the sport's history.
