The Yankees made two selections in the 2025 MLB Draft, shortstop Dax Kilby from Georgia in the first round and Kaeden Kent from Texas A&M in the third round. Due to signing Max Fried, they were limited to those two picks as a second-rounder was lost. The process for the second day includes selections from Rounds 4-20 in one MLB.com conference call. A tracker for picks and signing news will be regularly updated, with players having until August 1st to sign their contracts.
The Yankees welcomed two new picks to their system: Georgia high school shortstop Dax Kilby in the first round and Texas A&M shortstop Kaeden Kent in the third.
Draft rules limited the Yanks to just those two players on Day 1, as they lost a second-rounder for signing Max Fried this past offseason.
In previous years, there was a third day for all selections beyond the 10th round, but now, every pick from Rounds 4-20 will occur in one long MLB.com conference call.
Players have until 5:00 PM ET on August 1st to sign unless they're college seniors who have already used up their years of eligibility.
