Miguel Vargas suffered a left hand sprain after colliding with Aaron Judge and was placed on the 10-day injured list. Vargas bent his arm and wrist backward while trying to field an off-line throw at first base and exited the game in the fifth inning. He hit his first career grand slam and finished 1-for-2 in the 6-3 loss. The 25-year-old is batting .234 with 30 doubles, 14 home runs, 52 RBIs and 69 runs through 121 games and leads the White Sox with 445 at-bats. The team recalled rookie first baseman Tim Elko from Triple-A Charlotte to fill the roster spot.
