When Tim is on the Hill, good things tend to happen
Briefly

Tim Hill, the Yankees' valuable reliever, shows strong performance after a rough stint with the White Sox. Released due to poor stats, including a 16.0 H/9, he adjusted his sinker usage with the Yankees, resulting in a substantial drop in his BABIP from .436 to .239. In 2025, his BABIP further decreased to .202. Although he lacks a striking-out profile, positive results follow. During the playoffs, he previously demonstrated effectiveness, allowing only one earned run in 8.1 innings, demonstrating potential despite postseason challenges.
Hill has managed to lower that BABIP even further in 2025, currently at .202, and when you do something like that, it doesn't matter that you don't strike anyone out - positive results are inevitable.
Hill's release from the White Sox wasn't without justification, as he was redefining what it meant to get hit around, allowing a 16.0 H/9 in his time with them in 2024.
By all accounts, he has pitched like an All-Star this year. It's easy to look at his profile and say that he might struggle a bit more in the playoffs.
Alongside Luke Weaver, he was one of the Yankees' most effective relievers, allowing one earned run in 8.1 innings.
