Trent Grisham's slam sends Yankees to rout of White Sox

New York stretched its winning streak to six games, moved into a half-game lead for the first AL wild card and closed within three games of Toronto. Chicago lost its fourth straight game while out-hitting New York 12-7.

Rodon, who spent the first seven seasons of his career with the White Sox, held his old team in check in his first appearance at Rate Field since September 2021.
Grisham delivered the game's defining hit in the fourth, reaching Chicago starter Yoendrys Gomez for a grand slam. It was Grisham's seventh home run in the past 10 games and his second grand slam this season. Gomez (3-2) permitted five runs, four earned, on only two hits -- Grisham's grand slam and a Austin Wells single in the third. Gomez walked six and struck out six.
