Five roster moves were made in advance of the game against the Cincinnati Reds. The Mets selected Brandon Sproat's contract from Triple-A; he will make his MLB debut as today's starter. Right-hander Reed Garrett was returned from the 15-day injured list and reinstated to the active roster. In corresponding 28-man and 40-man roster adjustments, right-handers Kevin Herget and Wander Suero were optioned to Triple-A. Righty Justin Garza was designated for assignment to clear a roster spot. Additional roster updates were indicated as possible.
