John Sterling recovering from heart attack, but 'all things are good'
"For people who don't know - there isn't any reason to hide it - at the beginning of January, I had a heart attack, and that's fine, the heart is fine,"
"Sometimes it affects your legs and has affected my legs. So I'm kind of waiting for the force to leave my legs and I can get back out there. But I'm very fortunate. All things are good and it's great to be on with you."
John Sterling, 87, revealed that he had a heart attack at the beginning of January and that his heart is fine. The heart attack has affected his legs, causing weakness, and he is waiting for strength to return before resuming normal activities. Sterling reported feeling fortunate and in recovery while providing a public health update during an appearance on Rickie Ricardo's show on WFAN. Sterling served as the Yankees' radio voice beginning in 1989, retired in April 2024, returned later that season to call games through the World Series, and then retired for good.
