Have the Yankees hit rock bottom?
Briefly

On Sunday, the Yankees faced a humiliating defeat against the Astros, losing 7-1. Jose Altuve hit a home run off pitcher Max Fried in the first inning, setting a negative tone. Despite expectations for Fried to perform well, he gave up four runs in five innings. Aaron Judge, back from injury, struggled with a 0-for-3 performance. Fans expressed frustration over the players' lack of performance as the Yankees only recorded three hits during the game. Judge commented on the team's responsibility to show up for their supporters and perform better.
The Yankees had their $218 million ace Max Fried on the mound against the Astros' Jason Alexander - the guy with the 5.97 ERA, not Seinfeld's sidekick. It should've been the ideal get-well afternoon: Maybe Fried provides some length to recharge a tired bullpen, perhaps Aaron Judge pops his first homer since returning from the IL last Tuesday and the Yankees snatch the rubber game from hated Houston.
It's tough, but there's no excuses. We're getting paid to go out there and perform at our best and go out there and win baseball games. The fans are still packing out, showing support for us, and we've got to show up for them. Just go out there and do our job. I think that's what it comes to - we're not doing our job.
