"Mattingly joined the Toronto Blue Jays' coaching staff in 2023, sort of as a mentor for manager John Schneider, who was about to embark on his first season at the helm of the team. In 2023, he served as a bench coach, then as the offensive co-ordinator in 2024. Before the 2025 season, Mattingly returned to just their bench coach, as the Jays missed the postseason in 2024."
"After retiring in 1995, Mattingly remained involved in the game. He joined the Yankees' minor league system as a coach, before joining their big league coaching staff in 2004, lasting until 2007. He departed for the Los Angeles Dodgers before the 2008 season, eventually becoming their manager in 2010. He spent six seasons at the helm of the Dodgers, then joined the Miami Marlins as their bench boss in 2016."
