Dodgers Lose Andy Ibanez to AL Squad
""The timetable is more just kind of as I progress. So, it's kind of hard to to say exactly when I'll be ready to, you know, hop back in a Major League game again," Edman said at DodgerFest Saturday. "As of right now, this past week, I just took dry swings for the first time and then started my throwing progression again.""
""I got the boot off like two and a half weeks ago. The last two and a half weeks I've been working into walking and pushing off it more. I got into like light skipping this week. Hopefully jogging next this next week. So you know, that's kind of where I'm at right now and each step along the way, it's kind of just being patient and making sure I'm hitting all the checkpoints with with no discomfort. And everything I've done so far has felt really good.""
Andy Ibañez was claimed off waivers by the Oakland Athletics from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers signed Ibañez to a one-year, $1.2 million deal in January before designating him for assignment to bring back Michael Siani. Ibañez was added as depth while second baseman Tommy Edman recovers from ankle surgery; Edman is progressing through dry swings, throwing progression, walking, light skipping and expects to begin jogging soon. The Dodgers also have infield options Miguel Rojas and Hyeseong Kim. In 2025 with Detroit, Ibañez played 91 games, hit four home runs, recorded 21 RBIs and slashed .239/.301/.352 for a .653 OPS, profiling as a slightly above-average defender.
