In a match marked by resilience, the New York Red Bulls came from behind twice to secure a 1-1 draw against Orlando City at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Orlando scored first through Martin Ojeda, who capitalized on a defensive lapse. The Red Bulls equalized with a penalty from Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Dennis Gjengaar added another goal shortly into the second half. Despite the draw, head coach Sandro Schwarz expressed disappointment, feeling they dropped two points, especially after a solid defensive display from goalkeeper Carlos Coronel in the closing minutes.
"It's simple to say, OK, one point against Orlando, that's a great team, but now, it's more the feeling that we lost two points," said head coach Sandro Schwarz.
"Ojeda put Orlando ahead in the 18th minute after catching New York's transitional defense asleep, managing to streak down the left wing...and beam a right-footed effort into the top-right corner of the goal."
