Red Bulls assistant Vedad Ibisevic leaving club, 2nd-team coach Ibrahim Sekagya promoted as replacement | amNewYork
Briefly

Vedad Ibisevic has departed from his role as assistant coach for the New York Red Bulls, aiming to return to his home country with his family. Having previously worked under head coach Sandro Schwarz at Hertha Berlin, Ibisevic contributed significantly to the team's playoff run last year. In his place, Ibrahim Sekagya, who has a decade of experience with NYRB II, will assume the first team assistant position after leading the second team to its best start in franchise history this season.
Ibisevic made the jump to New York with Schwarz last year after the two worked together on Hertha Berlin's coaching staff.
He played a big role in our playoff run last year and also the start we have had to this season.
We are pleased to add Ibra [Sekagya] to our first team coaching staff on a full-time basis.
He has earned this opportunity, and we are grateful to have him as a part of this organization.
